Objective of the Program
The Master of Landscape Architecture, which is unique in Cyprus, addresses graduates of architecture, landscape architecture, design, environmental science and other related disciplines (e.g. fine art, city planning, forestry, agriculture, biology) who wish to train as professional Landscape Architects.
It deals with the study and design of natural and manmade landscape and aspires to fill an educational gap in this scientific area since today there is an intensified pressure of contemporary living to create useful and inspiring physical landscape spaces which hold a strong inter-relationship between local, regional and global interventions in the environment.
Discuss and compare the environmental, technological and cultural conditions within which a landscape is situated (locally and in its wider context).
Master knowledge of plant material and horticultural applications.
Master knowledge of theories and methodologies of landscape design, planning and management.
Master knowledge in Information Technology and Digital Design tools.
Combine new concepts and technologies in landscape design and management.
Critically analyses public policy and regulations.
Combine the ethics and values relative to the profession with the demands of practice, technological availability and economy.
Formulate and defend an opinion on theoretical issues of landscape design, management and planning at a variety of scales and contexts.
Creatively solve problems of landscape design and management with fully-developed, original and critically engaged design proposals.
Independently conduct further research for graduate work at the doctoral level.
