Focusing on developing higher education standards in Cyprus, The American University of Cyprus (AUCY) aims to become a leading center of excellence in education and raise academic standards in Cyprus by empowering its graduates and postgraduates through programs based on intensive practical training, innovative curricula, and modern equipment.
AUCY was inaugurated on Thursday, May 27th, 2021 on its campus located in the heart of Larnaka, under the auspices of the Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Mr. Prodromos Prodromou.
AUCY will be operating on two campuses: The Larnaka Campus in the first phase and the Ayia Napa Campus in the second phase. We offer degrees that are accredited by the Cypriot Ministry of Higher Education and European Council for Accreditation, as well as a fully academic exchange program with UMass a reputable, regionally and internationally accredited, United States of America (USA) University. Additionally, AUCY is in the process of affiliating with several universities worldwide, based on their expertise in the desired programs.
Our vision and mission is to ensure that all programs offered meet the highest international standards while recognizing the distinctiveness of Cypriot culture and philosophy.
We aim to provide the students with academic excellence, theoretical and practical knowledge that will subsequently enable them to excel in the job market upon graduation.
Our main goal is not only to equip students with respectable degrees but also to help them evolve as indispensable members of the community that they will be functioning in.
Our respectful academics and researchers have a solid
commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every student.
The next stage will be the launching of the Ayia Napa Campus, which upon construction, will accommodate some of our operating faculties as well as introducing new faculties.
AUCY will be totally Green and Eco-Friendly, adopting the European-University standards.
