Professional Braids Seminar

This intensive, practical seminar introduces participants to a range of contemporary professional braiding styles and the techniques required to achieve neat, secure and consistent results. The training covers Box Braids, Boho Braids, Rasta Braids, Cornrow Braids and Ponytail Braids, combining instructor guidance with hands-on practice.

Particular emphasis is placed on precision, sectioning, control, clean finishing and practical professional tips. The seminar is designed to help participants strengthen their technique, improve efficiency and build confidence in creating braid styles for clients.

Aims and Objectives

The seminar aims to provide structured training in professional braiding techniques. It is designed to:

  • introduce the tools, materials and preparation required for professional braiding;
  • demonstrate correct sectioning, grip, tension and braid formation;
  • develop cleaner, more precise and consistent practical work;
  • introduce the key stages of five popular braid styles;
  • share practical tips that support efficiency and a professional finish; and
  • help participants develop confidence in applying braiding techniques in a professional setting.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the seminar, participants should be able to:

  • identify the basic tools and materials required for professional braiding;
  • prepare and section the hair appropriately for the selected style;
  • apply improved grip, tension and braid-control techniques;
  • describe and practise the principal stages of Box, Boho, Rasta, Cornrow and Ponytail Braids;
  • produce neater and more secure braids with greater consistency;
  • recognise common technical errors and make appropriate adjustments; and
  • apply the demonstrated methods as a foundation for further practice and professional development.

Aspa Ismini Rossidi is a professional Braids Artist with more than 10 years of active experience in the field. For the past five years, she has delivered professional braiding training and seminars, helping students develop practical skills and prepare to enter the industry. According to the instructor’s records, 80% of her students are currently working professionally in the field.
