The American University of Cyprus - Admissions - Student Visa Requirement

Student Visa Requirements

We are pleased to welcome you to AUCY. As an international student, it is important to ensure you have the proper visa to study with us. Below, you will find the necessary steps and requirements for obtaining your student visa.

Visa Requirements for EU Students
a) Passport or ID: EU citizens can travel freely to Cyprus but must submit an Application for Issue of Residence Permit to the Migration Department within four (4) months of entry into Cyprus. The Office of Admissions assists with this procedure.

b) Health Insurance: EU students must comply with Migration Department regulations by having health insurance coverage or possessing the EU Hospitalization Card.

Visa Requirement for Non-EU Students
All non-EU students applying to the American University of Cyprus (AUCY) require a visa to enter Cyprus. Upon receiving all necessary documents and payments, the university submits the student’s documents to the Migration Authorities and Ministry of Education for approval. Once approved, the visa is issued in Cyprus, and the student is notified accordingly. A copy of the visa is sent to the student for travel purposes.

Upon issuance of a Conditional Acceptance Letter, non-EU students must submit the following to the Office of Admissions:

  • €55 Application Fee (non-refundable)
  • €210 Student Visa Fee (non-refundable)
