High-Impact Multidisciplinary Research Strategy & ABS Publication Incentive Policy
The aim of the AUCY RC will be to conduct high-quality research about Business Administration and Economics, Science and Technology and Arts and Humanities that will make the University as known as possible to the scientific community. By conducting academic research of a high level, the University will attract a higher number of students that will be able to specialize in the fields of Business Administration and Economics, Science and Technology and Arts and Humanities. Bonuses are awarded per eligible author (external author) per publication listing AUCY affiliation and the relevant division. ABS 2* = €300; ABS 3* = €600. Where ABS is inapplicable (e.g., Computer Science, Law, Psychology, Arts & Humanities), the Research Office will apply field-standard equivalencies (e.g., CORE B ≈ ABS 2*; CORE A/A* ≈ ABS 3*; Scopus SJR Q2 ≈ ABS 2*; SJR Q1 ≈ ABS 3*; W&L for Law; JCR Q1/Q2 for Psychology/Arts & Humanities). Annual caps and verification procedures apply. This targeted incentive is designed to stimulate high-quality research output, strengthen international student recruitment, and advance the University’s strategic objective of attaining stronger University-level standing.
Research Outputs Repository
The AUCY RC will maintain a centralized, searchable repository that records all research outputs-including peer-viewed publications, conference papers and presentations, books and book chapters, datasets, software, policy briefs, and media mentions-produced across its divisions. Each entry will capture standardized metadata (e.g., DOI/ISBN, ORCID, division, funding source, acknowledgements, and impact indicators) with links to open-access versions where permitted. By consolidating outputs in one database, the Center strengthens visibility, collaboration, compliance with open-science mandates, and evidence-based planning-directly supporting its mission of rigorous, high-impact research and optimized technological platforms.
Faculty Research Funding and Approval Process
The Research Center allocates €15,000 per year to each Faculty- Business Administration & Economics, Science & Technology, and Arts & Humanities—to support research activities such as publication fees, conference participation, and the organization of seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as initiative that demonstrably promotes research. Funding requests are first reviewed by a three-member committee composed of the Faculty Deans, the Head of the Research Center, and one additional Faculty member; upon a positive recommendation, the request is forwarded to the Rector for final approval.
