On Wednesday 26, 2023, the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics of the American University of Cyprus (AUCY), organized and hosted the event titled ‘Current trends in the Real Estate Market’. The event was under the auspices of the mayor of Larnaca Municipality Mr. Andreas Vyras, sponsored by Karma Developers, and welcomed more than 100 participants.
The President of the American University of Cyprus, Dr. Marc Antoinne-Zabbal, the Deputy Mayor of Larnaca Municipality Mr. Iasonas Iasonides, the Representative of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Christos Karas, and the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, Professor Marios Katsioloudes gave the welcome messages at the event.
Presentations took place by Mr. Constantinos Savvides, Director – In charge of Real Estate Advisory, PwC Cyprus on the findings of the Cyprus Real Estate Market 2022, and Mr. Andreas Anastasiades, Head of Real Estate, Ask Wire, on the contribution and uniqueness of their company in providing property profiles and spatial analytics. After the presentations, a fruitful and insightful panel discussion took place coordinated by Mr. Kritonas Onisiforou, MRICS, Head of Sales, Altia. The panel was formed by Mr. Nicolas Karoullas, CEO of Karma Developers, Mr. Constantinos Savvides, Director – In charge of Real Estate Advisory, Mr. Andreas Anastasiades, Head of Real Estate, Ask Wire, and Dr. Charalambos Pitros, Managing Partner, Zyprus Real Estate. A lively discussion between the panelists and the audience took place with key takeaways lying on becoming more proactive in the Real Estate sector in Cyprus by crafting a holistic strategy with the appropriate implementation mechanisms in place so as to set the basis for the future of the Cypriot Real Estate Market. In this way, the sector will be able to fill in the gap between supply and demand by adopting the type, size, and extent of requests for real estate properties and social infrastructure, and consequently, achieve growth and sustainability, and contribute to the improvement of people’s quality of life.
