A new era in higher education.
The American University of Cyprus, based in Larnaka, is officially the seventh private university in Cyprus. The University’s study programs have now been fully accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA).
With an attractive curriculum based on the American higher education system, the American University of Cyprus aims to provide students with a high level of education, and the right skills they need to meet the ever-changing challenges of today’s job market.
According to the President of the AUCY, “the mission of AUCY is to provide high-quality education to all Cypriot and non-Cypriot students, empowering them with academic excellence both theoretical and practical. AUCY’s main goal is not only to equip students with respectable degrees but also evolve them into indispensable members of the community in which they will be functioning.”
With two campuses, AUCY will first operate in the city of Larnaka and soon after in Ayia Napa. It’s worth noting that the Larnaka campus is the only one in Cyprus located right by the sea.
Universities play an integral part in the society in which they operate. Therefore, AUCY aims to have an open-door policy for all Cypriot organizations and International NGOs to use its premises, library, and courtyards for philanthropic and community events.
It will also have a Division of Continuing Education that will conduct research, offer courses in sections such as Business and Hospitality, and give training sessions that will provide accredited certificates to participants.
As of September 2021, the University will operate with three faculties: Business Administration and Economics, Arts and Humanities, and Sciences and Technology.
