The Department of Aeronautical and Space Engineering aims to be the leader in aeronautical and space engineering through quality education, learning, and research in emerging areas with a high degree of interpersonal skills and ethical responsibilities.
The Department encourages the students to master fundamental and advanced knowledge in UAV engineering, Flight Safety, Accident Investigation, Human Factors in Aviation, Aviation Management, Professional Flight, and a wide variety of interdisciplinary subjects by strategically aligning teaching, research and service missions to prepare for their successful professional careers through:
· An appropriate balance of classroom, design, laboratory, and research experience.
· Collaboration with the aerospace industry through directed research, internships, and professional mentoring for recognition and recruitment.
· The habits of lifelong learning instilled by aeronautical knowledge base as well as strong written and oral communication with a sense of the importance of professional and ethical responsibilities.
The Department of Aeronautical and Space Engineering offers the BSc in Aviation Management combined with the parallel provision of PPL and ATPL flight certifications, the MSc in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAVs) Engineering combined with the parallel provision of UAV operator’s certification, the MSc in Human Factors in Aviation and the MSc in Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation. All of our courses are supported by world-class partners, such as Airbus, Hellenic Air-Force, Qatar Airways, etc. The operation of the Department is supported by the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (IEEE AESS), Cyprus.
