Certified English Course for Adults Level A1 (Beginner)

 

CERTIFICATION DESCRIPTION
This course is an opportunity for learners to have a motivating first encounter with the English language and learn in an interactive and dynamic way. Through an integrated-skills approach, learners will be able to communicate in everyday situations using simple and common expressions and vocabulary.

This course corresponds to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) used for language course design. The activities to be incorporated in the course will be highly motivational, designed and selected based on students’ needs and interests. The pedagogical approach adopted will enhance autonomous learning which will engage learners in the learning process and experience. Learners will have continuous feedback from the instructors as a means of identifying areas which need further improvement. Learners will be assessed based on various assessment methods which include in-class discussions, group work, homework, quizzes as well as the formal final assessment upon course completion.

 

COURSE DURATION: A total of eight (8) weeks (32 hours).

 

Upon completion of this certification, candidates are expected to communicate in everyday situations with elementary vocabulary and expressions. Additionally, candidates will be able to introduce themselves and others as well as ask and answer questions about personal details. Overall, candidates are expected to interact in a simple way, provided that other people talk slowly and clearly.

Certified English Course for Adults Level A2 (Elementary)

 

CERTIFICATION DESCRIPTION
In this course, learners will enhance and acquire English language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Learners will be able to develop skills for traveling in an English-speaking country, socializing with English speakers and networking with English-speaking colleagues. The course will incorporate a skills-based approach with activities designed to give students the opportunity to acquire and practice vocabulary and grammar with an emphasis on communicative skills.

The activities to be incorporated in the course will be highly motivational, designed and selected based on students’ needs and interests. Certified English Course for Adults Level B1 (Intermediate)


CERTIFICATION DESCRIPTION

This course is an opportunity for learners to develop their communicative skills in English and engage in interactions with English speakers on familiar topics. Learners will also be able to use the English language in the workplace to read simple reports on familiar topics and write simple e-mails on subjects in their field.

This course corresponds to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) used for language course design. The activities to be incorporated in the course will be highly motivational, designed and selected based on students’ needs and interests. The pedagogical approach adopted will enhance autonomous learning which will engage learners in the learning process and experience. Learners will have continuous feedback from the instructors as a means of identifying areas which need further improvement. Learners will be assessed based on various assessment methods which include in-class discussions, group work, homework, quizzes as well as the formal final assessment upon course completion.

Upon completion of this certification, learners are expected to be able to maintain interaction with other speakers by comprehensively expressing their ideas clearly in a range of contexts (i.e. everyday interactions, workplace interactions). Learners will also have the ability to participate in conversations on familiar topics (i.e. current news, personal experiences, events).

Certified English Course for Adults Level B2 (Upper-Intermediate)

 

CERTIFICATION DESCRIPTION

In this course, learners will acquire English language skills to confidently and independently communicate with a variety of academic and professional environments. Based on a skills-based approach, learners will be able to engage in discussions in their workplace and interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity.

This course corresponds to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) used for language course design. The activities to be incorporated in the course will be highly motivational, designed and selected based on students’ needs and interests. The pedagogical approach adopted will enhance autonomous learning which will engage learners in the learning process and experience. Learners will have continuous feedback from the instructors as a means of identifying areas which need further improvement. Learners will be assessed based on various assessment methods which include in-class discussions, group work, homework, quizzes as well as the formal final assessment upon course completion.

Upon completion of this certification, candidates are expected to understand main ideas of complex text on concrete and abstract topics. Also, learners are expected to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity with native speakers, producing clear and detailed language on a range of subjects (i.e. opinions, advantages/disadvantages)

Certified English Course for Adults Level C1/C2 (Advanced)

 

CERTIFICATION DESCRIPTION

This course is designed to help learners develop their language skills to express themselves fluently and spontaneously in English. The skills-based approach adopted in this course will enable learners to use English flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.

This course corresponds to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) used for language course design. The activities to be incorporated in the course will be highly motivational, designed and selected based on students’ needs and interests. The pedagogical approach adopted will enhance autonomous learning which will engage learners in the learning process and experience.
